The music and producer and rapper, Peter O. Phillips better known by his stage name, Pete Rock, was born on June 21, 1970 in Bronx, New York. He became prominent in the early 1990s as one half of the critically acclaimed Hip Hop group Pete Rock & CL Smooth. He is widely recognised as one of the greatest hip hop producers of all time and is usually mentioned alongside Large Professor, DJ Premier, Q-Tip, RZA etc
