The Virginia native, Melissa Arnette Elliott, professionally known as Missy Elliott was born July 1, 2023. The rapper/singer and producer started as a member of an R&B group Fayze, renamed Sista, in the early 90s. She later became a member of Mob Swing, an R&B collective group formed by DeVante of Jodeci together with her neighbourhood friends Timbaland and Magoo. In 1995, Mob Missy left Mob Swing and started working with Timbaland as songwriting-production team. They wrote and produced many songs for several artists including SWV, Aaliyah, Total, Destiny's Child, MC Lyte, Puff Daddy (Diddy) etc Missy Elliott has released 6 studio albums so far and has won 4 Grammy awards.June 28, 2023
